a refresh retreat…

Recently I had the awesome opportunity to addend the Refresh Retreat with Dayton & Cincinnati Tuesdays Together. Have you ever heard of Rising Tide Society? It’s all about educating and empowering creatives to thrive in the spirit of Community over Competition. Thousands of small business owners around the world (photographers, calligraphers, makeup artists, stylists, watercolor painters, graphic designers, planners, and the list goes on and on) are involved in this creative community and since that’s a TON of people, the creators wanted to break it down to make it personal.

That’s why Tuesdays Together exist. “Tuesdays Together meet-ups are gatherings for small business owners who have a desire to share their knowledge, learn from their peers, and grow together. The meetings, coordinated by local industry leaders, are designed to be approachable, authentic, and uplifting. Each month, we’ll be releasing an overarching topic to kickstart the conversation and allowing the gathering to flow from there!”-RTS

You’re probably wondering what the heck does that have to do with anything? WELL…the Dayton & Cincinnati Tuesday Together groups teamed up for an event called Refresh Retreat back in March (I’m only a few months behind haha) and I wanted to share the refreshing (they really did pick a fitting name) experience with you!

What had happened was…

We had a full day of speakers, creating, sharing and fun at this particular Refresh Retreat! We had three speakers on Goal Setting, SEO, and the importance of self talk and community. The last talk really stood out to me- keep scrolling to hear why!

To create, we were broken up into four rotations- each person got to try two sessions! We had Calligraphy, Cupcake Decorating, Aroma Therapy and Floral Arranging. I got to do the flower arrangements and cupcake decorating and loved every second of it! We had the prefect end to the day with a Cotton Candy stand with strawberry champagne.

This was my FAVORITE part of the entire day! Some women shared about their struggle with cancer, their fertility journey, recovering from life-threatening car accidents, feeling like they’re failing as a mom, feeling like an imposture, and the list goes on. The amount of vulnerability was really refreshing and encouraging. I know it’s easy for me personally to not feel good enough or that no one understands that feeling, when in reality, if we are actually honest, most of us feel like that at some point. So, it’s nice to be reminded that you’re not alone & you have people in your corner, cheering you on. You go girl!

I can’t wait to attend more events just like this Refresh Retreat because ya’ll it was SO refreshing!
