Room by Room Series: Our Master Bedroom

Our bedroom has taken me a while! We started living in this house in June of 2018 and it wasn’t until February (9 months later) of 2019 that this space felt “complete.” This is our safe haven and place of rest so I love that it finally feels finished!!

I actually remembered to take pictures on my iPhone throughout this process so you could see the progression over the past 9 months!

Phase one

June – September (this is what it looked like for our first 4 months)

This felt like bare bones for a while and I wasn’t fond of it but our budget only allowed us to prioritize one room at a time which started with the spaces where people/we would be most: living room, dining room, & my office. Soo this got put on the back burner!

Phase two

September – January (this is what it looked like for the following 6 months)

What changed from phase one: We bought a new bed spread & added toss pillows, curtains, and frames to the walls. I rearranged the lamps & decorations we had on our dressers & put the fan on the ground.

Phase three

January- present

What changed: We bought a new headboard, side tables and lamps. I made our vows in InDesign & got them printed at Staples- those now fill the blue frames on either side of the window above my dresser. Drew’s grammy helped me hem the four curtains panels as well! I rearranged the decorations on our dresser (this will likely be a never ending change haha) and side tables.

Our vows hanging in our room is my absolute favorite! I bought the frames at Hobby Lobby, typed our vows in InDesign and used a custom font, then had them printed at Staples.
I got Drew his alarm clock for Christmas and it’s been INCREDIBLE! Its a sunrise simulation clock so 30 minutes before your alarm is set, the light gradually gets brighter. We honestly think it has made getting up way easier- highly recommend!
Please note the American Girl Doll alarm clock that I’ve had since third grade that I still keep on my side table! I love it because you can change the time zone and if you press the button on top, it shows the time in red on the ceiling. It’s the little things haha
