Hey there! I'm so glad you're here! I'm Monica Brown, a wedding photographer from Indianapolis who loves to celebrate couples & photographers. I hope you enjoy browsing through recent work, advice for brides & photographers, and taking a peek into our personal life!
This was SUCH a special treat!! 4 of my 8 college roomies took a trip to California this October! One of them, Liz (i.e. Lizard) currently lives there with her husband who’s in the Marines. Megan (from Colorado), Lydia (from Columbus), and myself (from Oxford) all flew out to meet there. Lyds and I were travel buddies & that was such a blast 🙂
I was able to check Yosemite + Sequoia National Park off my bucket list which felt like such a feat. I would absolutely love to go back again someday, especially with Drew! DEFINITELY recommend that you make the trip- it’s incredible! God always leaves me speechless with the beauty of His creation & this time was no different.
Wednesday: We flew into LAX Thursday evening. Liz picked us up at airport & we drove to her home in San Clemente. I loved getting to SEE these sweet friends in person to catch up about our lives verse phone + Facetime calls.
Thursday: Beach day baby! I got burnt like a lobster. #worthit
Friday: We woke up at the butt crack of dawn, drove about 7 hours to Yosemite, found our campsite, went on a nearby hike to scope out some Sequoia trees then headed back to camp to make dinner & hung out. Food always tastes better out in the wild 🙂
Saturday: woke up, made breakfast, drove to the base of 4-mile (which is actually 4.8 miles in total, it took us about 5 hours), ate lunch at the top which had incredibly views!! After lunch, we made our way down, a surprisingly ran a good chunk of the way down. Shutout to my friend Erica for recommending the hike…it felt like you saw a new view each switchback. I’d love to do this one again someday! *Hopefully* I’d be in better shape before making the trek though 😉
Sunday: woke up, breakfast, then we drove to the south side to see the Sequoia trees and man, they do NOT disappoint!! Before doing research for our trek, I always thought the Seqouia trees were only found in Sequoia National Park. I was so wrong. They are scattered all around! This was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip! They are just amazing trees! Afterwards, we drive back to Lizard’s (dinner on the way home) and passed out when we got home
Monday: flew home 🙁
A succulent lovers DREAM!! We saw SO many that were just thriving!! I wish mine at home would do that…
the drive was absolutely incredible- everything was bursting with fall colors!
can you spot our new friend below?? he’s hidden 🙂
Thanks for following along…until the next adventure 🙂
