Room by Room Series: Our Living & Dining Room- fall edition

Hi friends!

I hope you’re having a great week so far! This is the very first post of the “Room by Room” series that I’m starting up over this next year (or however long it takes us to finish ish the rooms of our house haha). I love decorating and re-decorating. I love reading other blogs with home related updates, seeing house updates on social media and we all know Pinterest is an endless rabbit hole of home inspiration!

I also want to share my life with you on this platform, not just our beautiful couples (although we LOVE that too!!)! A huge part of life is home and that especially feels true because it’s where I work now soo most of my life is happening here haha.

We moved majority of our stuff into the house at the beginning of May 2018 but we didn’t actually start living here (Drew had to finish up school, me finishing up my day job & then we traveled for 2.5 weeks) until June 18, 2018…which means we’ve been living here for close to five months now! It’s CRAZY how fast time seems to be moving!!

For our first two years of marriage we lived in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with the TINEST kitchen ever. Rent was cheap and our apartment was in a great location from campus. We loved the space and even thought it felt small at times, it was a great starter for us so we could pay our way through Drew’s masters program without going into debt. I had SO much fun decorating that space and it didn’t take much time at all to have it feeling “cozy” all while staying in our budget. I actually blogged it in the fall and winter as well if you’d like to check it out.

The house we’re currently renting is almost triple the size of our apartment! Our hope is to be in this home for a few years until we buy a house completely up front (Dave Ramsey enthusiast). Yes, we know this is a CRAZY dream and super abnormal!! But this is a dream of ours and something we’re working hard toward while keeping in mind that life happens and it may not be 100% possible but we sure as heck are going to try! All that to say, this is much more than we need at the moment but we have space to grow these next few years if you’re catching my drift ๐Ÿ˜‰

So with that, we’re doing this room by room and today I’m sharing a little peek into our living and dining room area with all our fall decorations out! They flow together so I figured I’d just make this one post. I’ll likely do another post on these rooms when Christmas rolls around and as we upgrade furniture so you can join in on the journey of our home ๐Ÿ™‚

Listing & linking where things are from at the bottom of this post if you’re interested!

Drew did the Macedonia and sloth water color paintings in college…quite a conversation piece huah? haha

I got this table & 6 chairs for $50 on an online garage sale- one of my thriftiest purchases!! It’s in need of some sanding but it’ll be great until we save up for a nicer table ๐Ÿ™‚

You better believe I keep our wedding album on display at all times! I don’t just talk the talk when it comes to the importance/meaning of Legacy Albums- these are AMAZING and so many people flip through it when they’re over which I love ๐Ÿ™‚ Heck I probably do once a week as I’m passing by this nook haha.

While I was taking these pictures, a DOUBLE rainbow was outside so I had to take a quick picture!
