Grand Haven, Michigan Girls Trip

At the end of July I got to see some of my best buds from college for a little reunion trip! At Miami, it’s a “big thing” to name the college house you lived in so me + my 7 amazing roommates lived at the Highlands (on High street) and our good friends lived in The Coffee House (can you tell their beverage of choice? ha). 9/13 gals from both college houses were able to make it (we missed you Liz, Caroline, Shannon & Sarah!!) which felt like a HUGE win in light of all the crazy happening in the world and all of us being scattered around the country.

In light of COVID-19, we were a bit hesitant if we’d even be able to still make this trip happen but I’m SO grateful we were able to!! It was really fun and refreshing to have a change of scenery for the long weekend!! We rented an air B&B close to the beach and divided up all food between the 9 of us so we could eat in for each meal. We did, with masks, visit 2 coffee shops and one ice cream shop as treats though!

Weekend Recap

We all arrived Thursday night, threw Liv an engagement party & stayed up late catching up. The next day we spent ~5 hours at the beach which was a blast. I wore a two piece for the first time in…a LONG time…and even though I applied SPF 50 three times, I still burnt my stomach like a lobster haha. Sorry baby Brown! After dinner we grabbed some ice cream and headed to the pier to watch the sun set which was so gorgeous!

Saturday we got up and headed to the beach again. Lots of walks, Spikeball, corn hole, swimming to/jumping off the pier made the day fly by- way too fast if you ask me! That night we all dressed up to snag some sunset pictures at the pier and when we got back, they threw Meg and I a baby shower which was so sweet & fun!! Megan and I are ~1 month apart in our due dates and it has been really sweet to walk through this season together + especially helpful to have a partner-n-crime for what felt like endless bathroom breaks during the trip. Sunday we made one last visit to the pier before saying bittersweet goodbyes and heading back home. It definitely went by way too fast but I’m so grateful for our time together!

of course we had to play a few rounds of nerts before bed
one of our coffee shop runs- this place was great!!
Above: some of my college housemates at the Highlands- just missing Liz & Caroline!!
this beautiful gal is ENGAGED!! Woot woot! Can’t wait for her to get hitched this December!
I rocked the tennis shoe + dress look when we walked to the pier each night…pregnancy will do that to ya haha.
there were so many pretty flowers everywhere you walk!!
last morning together visiting the pier

Until next time friends!

Cheers,

Mon
