Hey there! I'm so glad you're here! I'm Monica Brown, a wedding photographer from Indianapolis who loves to celebrate couples & photographers. I hope you enjoy browsing through recent work, advice for brides & photographers, and taking a peek into our personal life!
Andy & AK are MARRIED! Their summer Mustard Seed Gardens Wedding was pure JOY and it was such an honor to document! These two had so many beautiful and thoughtful and fun details incorporated throughout their day…just keep scrolling to see what I mean (peep the ring bearers security get up)!
From the incredible couple themselves, here’s a little peek into this sweet couple:
“Andy and I met in January 2017 at our Church’s youth group winter retreat. It was my junior year of high school and my family had just moved to Indiana so that my dad could be a pastor at the church. I decided to go on the winter retreat to make some new friends. I remember seeing Andy and thinking, “Wow! He is the only cute boy in this youth group!” We hit it off as friends and loved hanging out at church. We also went to the same high school and ended up in the same lunch period. We ate lunch together everyday and that is really where our relationship blossomed.
After graduating high school, I decided to go on a 9 month mission trip called the World Race. Right before I left, Andy and I both realized we liked each other. He told me that he liked me and that he would wait for me to get back, so we emailed back and forth to keep each other updated on our lives while I was gone. We didn’t actually start dating until about 6 months after I got back, but that is basically how our dating relationship began!
We have dated long distance throughout our time in college with Andy at Purdue and me at IUPUI. Our relationship has looked a lot like meeting halfway for dinner at Cracker Barrel, soaking up every minute we get together while on school breaks, and lots of phone calls. I remember during our junior year when we knew we realized we wanted to marry each other. We realized that we would be devastated if we broke up and we didn’t want to live without each other. Dating has been fun, but we are definitely ready to be married and living in the same town! (WOOHOO- The day has finally come!!) Because of long distance, I have done a lot of the wedding planning with my mom. It hasn’t been much of a stressful experience for me and Andy because we have just gotten to do the fun stuff together! Although, trying to put the registry together was rough for us LOL.
I love a lot of things about Andy, but something I will highlight is that I love how he is his loyal and passionate. Whether that is in his relationship with God, his relationship with me, being in the Army, being involved in Cru, hobbies, etc.- he is all in. He is faithful to stick with the things he chooses and gives it his all. In our relationship, this means that I never have to doubt or question his love for me. I know that he is a steady, loyal, constant that will always be by my side. He is a great best friend that I get to have for the rest of my life!
From Andy: What I love most about AK is her deep devotion to people and the Lord. Constantly, she is sacrificing for those around her, whether that is her friends at Cru, her family, and me. AK is quick to lay down her wants for those close to her. She has a rich and beautiful love for others. I have seen this same love given to me countless times, through my mess ups and my selfishness. It is evident that this love that she has only comes from her devotion to the Lord. This love that many of us have seen is so unique and beautiful because of her close relationship with the Father. The love that AK gives to others and her devotion to the Lord is why I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with her!”
