Fredericksburg, Texas Anniversary Session | Luke & Amy

I had the opportunity to go to Texas for the first time this month and while there, photographed Luke and Amy’s anniversary session! They are coming up on celebrating 1.5 years of marriage so is was the perfect time to document them again! Their story is SO fun & unique so I can’t wait to share this sweet couple with you! What better way than in their own words?

How they met

Luke and I met in the produce isle of a grocery store in Houston. Luke placed his shopping cart right behind me as I was picking out some veggies and when I turned around I ended up putting my beets in his cart thinking it was mine. I debated for a few seconds how I could take my produce out of this guys cart without being noticed (or making things extremely awkward) but he caught me and we had a laugh about it. We then talked for a while as people shopped for produce around us and he eventually asked me out.”

When Amy realized she was in love

Luke and I were off work for the holidays and one morning I said something like “I’ve never been to Colorado.” About an hour later we were in a Jeep Patriot on a road trip from Texas to Colorado, with his 70 pound dog. I fell in love with him on this trip because I was able to get to know him more. He’s an adventurous, caring, and wonderful person. Four years later, he’s also still my best friend.”

What made Luke fall in love

I fell in love with Amy’s spontaneity, sense of adventure, and willingness to try just about anything. I also love her strong will and ability to stand up for her beliefs and for those that she loves. She has a wonderful personality, is easy to talk to, and is beautiful inside and out.”

Amy’s favorite thing about marriage

“There are so many things. Overall I just really love life with Luke.”

Luke’s favorite thing about marriage

“My favorite thing is always having my best friend who I can confide in and who confides in me. Having her support and love has helped me tremendously to grow as a person and pursue things I never before considered to be possible. I don’t know where I would be without her.”

I absolutely love that my job revolves around celebrating weddings but more importantly, marriages! Anniversary sessions like this get me excited all over again for all our couples and really all those who are/will enter into marriage! It’s hard work, but the best work. Enjoy browsing Luke & Amy’s sweet session!
