Hey there! I'm so glad you're here! I'm Monica Brown, a wedding photographer from Indianapolis who loves to celebrate couples & photographers. I hope you enjoy browsing through recent work, advice for brides & photographers, and taking a peek into our personal life!
Yes, we are the crazies that go camping in the winter! With tons of layers, a hearty camp fire, and good company it really is a blast! This was the second time I’ve ever camped in the winter. The first time was in college and we actually backpacked to our campsite + there was snow everywhere! So this car camping with no snow felt like a walk in the park 😉
Justin and Katie (they probably look familiar to you at this point because Justin is Drew’s younger brother and we’ve photographer their proposal and wedding + they’re some of our best friends!) ventured into the cold with us. Crazy must run in the family I guess? 🙂 We live about 3 hours apart so we met in the middle at France Park in Logansport, Indiana.
When we arrived, there was NO ONE to be found, we must have spotted 20 raccoons while searching for our campsite and we saw the remains of a haunted trail. It was a tad eerie but once we got the fire started, tents up, and dinner going, that faded away.
Drew and I were up first both morning so we got the essentials started: fire and hot chocolate. Hot chocolate was such a good idea!! Next time we’re going to bring tea too.
Saturday after we woke up we had a delicious egg & bacon breakfast then hit the trails!
These two are always so prepared & I’m thankful for that! 🙂
Drew gathered a bunch of this and then turned to me and said, “I got these flowers for you” haha. In reality, they made for great fire starters!
Justin emerging from the field…
love these people!!!
I had on 3 jackets, 2 shirts and 3 socks….which was the least amount of clothing I had on the whole weekend haha. Also, please notice Drew’s “limited edition” crocks haha. This man 🙂
Pumped for our next camping adventure! Until next time friends 🙂
XO,
Mon
