Hey there beautiful bride-to-be! It’s about that time that you’re in the process of preparing for your engagement session! I want you to have the best possible experience, so here’s 5 tips I recommend before, during, and after your session to help you make the most of it:

BEFORE

Clean your ring

You want to make sure your bling is looking extra stunning because I’ll photograph a few shots of it by itself and it’ll be in every picture during your session!

Avoid being hangry

We all know the term “hangry” is a real thing! Make sure you are both well fed before your session to avoid this! You can even bring some snacks to have on hand just in case you need a little pick-me-up. Same goes for water! Taking care of your physical needs before you show up is an important aspect to rock out your engagement session!

Follow the two Cs

DURING

Trust me

There is nothing you can do to mess this up! I will let you know everything you need to and we’ll find the poses that are most flattering for you and your fiance! All you have to do is show up, have fun, and let me do the rest! I may throw some crazy ideas at you, but I promise it’ll be SO worth it!! For example…

I intentionally chose this image because you’ll NEVER guess that we were standing 10 feet from the road in a college student’s front yard, with several brightly colored cars in the background, right across from an elementary school. But look how beautiful the yellow in that tree is!! When we pulled up Drew even gave me an unsure look as to why were landed there, but if we hadn’t THIS wouldn’t have been possible! I’m so thankful Ashlee & Matt trusted my crazy idea because this turned out to be one of my favorite images from their session!

AFTER

Go on a date after

You’re all dolled up & out of the house so you’re more half way there! Spend a night on the town and go out for dinner or movie (or both!). I challenge you to avoid talking about anything wedding related during your post session date!! It’s so easy to get caught up in all the wedding details, but it’s so important to continue to date & remember why you’re planning a wedding in the first place 🙂
